Game of Laughs is a platform that rewards meme creators and users for their work and usage of the platform. They get paid with GOL tokens based on the engagement they receive with their posts.

The Challenge
Internet content creators — particularly meme creators — were generating enormous engagement and advertising value for centralised social platforms while receiving none of the financial reward for their contribution. The meme economy was entirely extractive from the creator's perspective: they provided the content, platforms captured the value, and creators were left with likes and reposts. A model that put value back in the hands of creators and their audiences was both overdue and commercially viable.
Our Approach
Game of Laughs was built as a blockchain-native content platform where engagement is directly convertible to economic value through GOL token rewards. Every interaction — post, like, share, comment — generates or distributes tokens, creating an economy where entertainment and earning are the same activity. We designed the token distribution model to reward quality engagement over volume, using engagement velocity and sentiment signals to calibrate rewards and prevent gaming.

Game of Laughs includes a content creation and sharing platform optimised for memes and short-form entertainment, a GOL token reward system triggered by user engagement metrics, a creator dashboard showing real-time earnings from content performance, governance mechanisms allowing the community to shape platform rules, NFT-based viral content preservation for top-performing posts, and a leaderboard system that gamifies the creator ranking experience.
Impact & Results
Game of Laughs attracted a creator community motivated by the combination of entertainment value and genuine earning potential, with top creators building meaningful income streams from content that would have generated zero revenue on traditional platforms. User retention was significantly higher than typical social platforms as the economic incentive to remain active added a dimension of engagement beyond pure entertainment.
What's Next
Game of Laughs is building a brand advertising layer that connects companies wanting to participate in meme culture with top creators on the platform, adding a direct brand revenue stream alongside the token reward model. Cross-platform integration allowing content to be shared beyond the native platform while still generating GOL token rewards is planned, extending creator earning potential without requiring audiences to migrate.
