The Challenge
Real estate remained one of the most illiquid and inaccessible investment classes due to high entry costs, lengthy transaction processes, and the absence of any mechanism for property owners to unlock capital without a full sale. Simultaneously, borrowers seeking real estate-backed loans were constrained by slow, expensive traditional lending processes. The industry needed a platform that could tokenise, trade, lend, and borrow against real estate assets on-chain.
Our Approach
Bitstate was designed as a comprehensive real estate DeFi platform that brings together tokenisation, fractional ownership, and lending and borrowing functionality under a single blockchain-native roof. We built the tokenisation engine to handle the legal and technical representation of real assets on-chain, then layered DeFi mechanics that allow tokenised properties to serve as collateral in lending protocols — unlocking liquidity without requiring owners to liquidate their position.
