BUK
BUK is a next-generation, NFT-based hotel inventory distribution infrastructure. BUK makes the conventional hotel booking experience more flexible and decentralised so all participants, travellers, hotel owners and investors can greatly benefit from the protocol.

The Challenge
Hotel inventory distribution was controlled by a small number of centralised OTA platforms that extracted substantial commissions from hotel owners, offered travellers limited flexibility on bookings they had paid for in full, and left no mechanism for secondary value creation once a room was booked. The rigid, opaque nature of conventional booking contracts benefited intermediaries at the expense of the actual participants — hotels, travellers, and potential investors.
Our Approach
BUK reimagined hotel inventory as tokenised NFT assets, where each booking is represented as a transferable, programmable digital contract on-chain. This made bookings tradeable on secondary markets, allowed flexible modification terms to be encoded in the NFT itself, and opened hotel room inventory as an investable asset class for the first time. Smart contracts automated revenue distribution among all participants without requiring a centralised intermediary.
Key Features
BUK features an NFT-based booking infrastructure where every reservation is a tradeable on-chain asset, a secondary marketplace for buying and selling hotel bookings, programmable refund and modification terms set by hotels directly in the NFT contract, investor participation mechanisms allowing capital to flow into hotel inventory, and a transparent fee structure that significantly undercuts traditional OTA commission rates.
Impact & Results
Hotel partners on BUK reported meaningful reductions in distribution costs compared to OTA channels, directly improving margin per booking. Travellers benefited from flexible booking terms encoded at the contract level, and several early adopters successfully resold bookings via the secondary market when plans changed — a first in the history of hotel distribution. The protocol attracted attention from hotel groups interested in the investor participation model as a new funding mechanism.
What's Next
BUK is expanding beyond hotels into broader travel inventory including experiences, tours, and transport, creating a comprehensive decentralised travel marketplace built on the same NFT infrastructure. Dynamic pricing smart contracts that adjust booking NFT values in real time based on demand signals are in development, enabling a more efficient price discovery mechanism for both buyers and hotel partners.
